CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's volleyball hosts The Citadel at 2 p.m. Saturday in a Dig Pink match. The Catamounts are supporting breast cancer awareness and asking fans to wear pink to the contest.
WCU had a goal of raising $1000 prior to the contest with the Bulldogs and far exceeded their expectations. The Catamounts raised over $1200 for their Dig Pink event.
Western Carolina will welcome a Citadel team with a record of 6-20 and 1-8 in the Southern Conference. The Catamounts are still looking for their first conference win as they are 3-21 and 0-10 in the SoCon.
Senior Amanda Kerr leads Western Carolina with 155 kills and averages 2.25 kills per game. Fellow senior setter Katie Hennessey paces the club with 614 assists, averaging 7.31 assists per game.
Not only is it a Dig Pink event on Saturday it is also Halloween. Fans can be on the look out for spooky Halloween tots being given to those in attendance courtesy of Sonic of Sylva.
