Cullowhee, N.C. - Fresh off their conference-opening win over Wofford last Tuesday night, the Western Carolina Catamount volleyball team hits the road on Saturday, traveling just over the mountain to UNC Asheville for a pair of matches in the UNC Asheville Bulldog Volleyball Classic at the Justice Center.

Western (2-8) will first face the Samford Bulldogs at 12:30 pm on Saturday. The Catamounts earned their first victory of the 2005 season against the Bulldogs on Sept. 10 as a part of the Samford Invitational. The Cats are 4-2 versus Samford all-time having won two-straight over the Ohio Valley Conference-member.

In the night cap, the Catamounts will face the home-standing Bulldogs of UNC Asheville at 7:00 pm. Western will be looking to avenge last year's 3-0 loss in Asheville. All-time, the Catamounts lead the series, 22-14, over the Big South Conference school. After play on Friday night, the Bulldogs (7-2) have won five-straight entering play on Saturday.
