Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina's head volleyball coach Karen Glover has released the program's schedule for the 2013 season that will open in Cullowhee with the WCU Invitational on August 30 through August 31.
The Catamounts are slated for four home matches on opening weekend and a total of 12 matches in the Ramsey Center on the season. The schedule has 12 road competitions and six neutral site matches for a total of 30 matches in 2013.
At the WCU Invitational the Catamounts will face off against Wright State and Boston College on August 30 and end the tournament with USC Upstate and UNC Asheville on August 31.
The Catamounts will continue to prepare for conference play with the Memphis Invitational on September 6 through September 7, the Hilton Garden Mayfaire UNCW Volleyball Classic on September 13 through 14 and the Carolina Classic presented by Courtyard Marriott on September 20 through September 21.
The Southern Conference slate opens September 26 as the Catamounts return to the Ramsey Center against Appalachian State and Davidson on September 28.
Following a two-match road trip to Samford and Chattanooga to open the month of October on the fourth and fifth, WCU sees four more teams visit Cullowhee starting with Wofford on October 11 and ending eight days later with Georgia Southern on October 19.
Four matches on the road carry the Catamounts from October to November as they travel to Davidson on October 25 and end the swing with Elon on November 2. Home competition wraps up with Samford and Chattanooga on November 9 and November 10 respectively, while Georgia Southern on November 15 and The Citadel on November 16 close out regular season play.
The SoCon tournament is scheduled to begin on November 23 on Furman's campus in Greenville, S.C.
