Catamount Volleyball to Host Spring Tournament Saturday

Cullowhee, N.C. - Continuing its spring workouts, the Western Carolina volleyball team will host two other squads in tournament action this Saturday (April 20) in the Ramsey Center auxiliary gymnasium. The Catamounts welcome Lynchburg College and Gardner-Webb University for a three-match competition.

All three matches will be a traditional best three-out-of-five format. The Catamounts face Lynchburg at 10:00 am with Hornets facing Gardner-Webb at approximately 12:30 pm. The three-match event will conclude with Western Carolina facing the Runnin' Bulldogs of GWU at 3:00 pm.

Gardner-Webb is a NCAA Division I squad that competes in the Big South Conference, finishing 9-22 a season ago. WCU claimed a 3-0 victory over the Runnin' Bulldogs in Cullowhee back on Sept. 18, hitting .500 as a team in the deciding third game. Lynchburg College is a NCAA Division III squad that is a part of Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Hornets finished 24-10 overall a season ago.

Admission to the event is free. Those planning to attend are asked to park in the baseball parking lot adjacent to the Ramsey Center.
