Western Carolina Volleyball Ends Season with 3-1 Loss to The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Western Carolina volleyball (6-26, 3-15 SoCon) closed out the 2008 season with a 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 17-25, 20-25) loss to The Citadel (9-23, 2-16 SoCon) Sunday. The Catamounts' season ends as the club did not make the eight-team Southern Conference Volleyball Tournament.

A pair of freshmen and a sophomore led the Catamounts in the match, so the future looks bright. Freshmen Carrie Minogue and Rebecca Stoltz along with sophomore Kara Lynzee Brooks each had 10 kills in the match. Minogue also had 11 digs for a double-double.

Junior Katie Hennessey had a double-double with 38 assists and 15 digs and also had four block assists. Freshman Brittany Lysik had a sold outing with four kills, nine digs and two service aces.
