Western Carolina Volleyball Falls to UNCG 3-0

Nov. 2, 2008

Box Score

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina volleyball fell 3-0 (10-25, 13-25, 13-25) at UNC Greensboro Sunday. The Catamounts fall to 6-21 and 3-10 in the Southern Conference while UNC Greensboro clinches a spot on the Southern Conference Tournament and improves to 17-9 and 9-4 in the SoCon.

For the second straight game, Western Carolina was without the services of their defensive powerhouse Liz Rondone. The junior libero is still battling an injury and listed day-to-day.

UNC Greensboro took advantage of Rondone being out of the line-up and took three straight games from Western Carolina. The Catamounts had just 16 kills in the match and committed 15 errors.

Freshman Carrie Minogue led Western Carolina with five kills.

The Catamounts return home for their final home matches of the season next Saturday and Sunday welcoming Samford and Chattanooga.
