Jakovljevic Tallies Sixth Straight Double Figure Kill Mark

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina volleyball (8-21, 3-11 SoCon) dropped a 3-0 (26-30, 23-30, 24-30) decision to Georgia Southern (9-17, 6-8 SoCon) Sunday on Senior Day. Senior Meredith Harmon was recognized before the game.

Harmon had a productive outing in the day set aside to celebrate her career at Western Carolina. She had 13 kills and three blocks.

Freshman outside hitter Jelena Jakovljevic recorded her sixth consecutive match in which she notched double figure kills. She led the club with 17 kills.

As a team, Western Carolina fought hard in the match. The club battled back from a slow start in game two to make it a game but Georgia Southern pulled away in the end.

For the match, the Catamounts had a .173 attack percentage and recorded seven blocks as a team. Georgia Southern had a .290 attack percentage in the match and had six service aces.

Western Carolina hosts one of its final two home matches of the season at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Catamounts host Chattanooga.
