STATESBORO, Ga. - Western Carolina volleyball (3-21, 0-10 SoCon) completed its two-match Southern Conference road swing with a 3-0 loss at Georgia Southern (17-8, 7-3 SoCon) Sunday. It was the first time in two games WCU had been shutout.

The Catamounts battled and hung tough in the first set, with the game tied at 17, however Georgia Southern closed out the match on a 7-3 run. In the second set, WCU was tied early, at nine, with the Eagles, but Georgia Southern pulled away early and got the win. Set three was all Georgia Southern as Western Carolina had just four kills and committed five errors in the game.

Sophomore Carrie Minogue led the Catamounts with seven kills. Senior setter Katie Hennessey had 16 assists. Sophomore Sarah Gantt got the starting nod at libero and had four digs.

Western Carolina returns home on Saturday to host The Citadel at 2 p.m. in the Ramsey Center. It will also be the Catamounts "Dig Pink" event.
