Western Carolina Volleyball Falls to Furman 3-0

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Western Carolina volleyball (3-15, 1-4 SoCon) fell to Furman (11-7, 4-1 SoCon) 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-14) in a mid-week Southern Conference match Wednesday at Alley Gymnasium.

The Catamounts had a .061 attack percentage in the match and had just 22 kills as a team. Furman, on the other hand, had a .280 attack percentage and doubled Western Carolina's kill total with 45.

Freshman Brittany Lysik led Western Carolina with eight kills and setter Katie Hennessey had 11 digs. Junior Liz Rondone also added 11 digs and now needs 35 digs to break the career digs record at Western Carolina.

Rondone will have a chance to break the record at home as Western Carolina hosts a pair of Southern Conference matches this weekend. The Catamounts will face Georgia Southern at 6 p.m. Friday and Davidson at 2 p.m. Sunday.
