Western Carolina Volleyball Drops SoCon Match to Chattanooga, 3-0

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Western Carolina volleyball (5-11, 1-1 SoCon) dropped its first road Southern Conference match of the season with a 3-0 (15-30, 20-30, 13-30) loss to Chattanooga (5-6, 1-0 SoCon) Tuesday at Maclellan Gym.

The Catamounts had just 25 kills in the match and committed 24 errors for a .007 attack percentage. Western Carolina didn't record a service ace in the match and committed five service errors.

Sophomore setter Katie Hennessey recorded a double-double for the Catamounts with 10 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore libero Liz Rondone had 15 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Jelena Jakojevic returned to the Catamount lineup for the first time since the first match of the Catamount Clash Tournament last weekend. She led the team with six kills, as none of the Catamounts registered double figure kills in the match. Fellow freshman Ali Rook had five kills.

Western Carolina returns home on Friday to host Appalachian State at 7 p.m. in the Ramsey Center. The first 100 fans through the door receive a free Western Carolina volleyball t-shirt.
