Volleyball Holds First Practices of 2012 Season

Catamount Volleyball opens up this season at home hosting the Western Carolina Invitational hosted by Best Western

Former East Tennessee State standout Jamie Stancliff joins the Catamount volleyball staff for the 2012 season. Stancliff - a middle blocker for the Bucs - wrapped up her career at ETSU being named the Bucs' Defensive MVP Award. Stancliff was also named a Second-Team All-Atlantic Sun performer after leading the league in blocks, moved into fourth place in ETSU history for most block assists in a single season with 112 during her senior year. She now holds the third and fourth spots on the list as her 124 block assists as a junior rank third in school history.

Stancliff, an Advance, N.C., native was a multisport athlete at Ronald Reagan High School where she was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and swimming, and a three-year letterwinner in cross country and track and field. Stancliff broke the school record for kills with 273 as a senior leading all players in her conference. She also has national playing experience, as she was a member of the IC Stars USA Volleyball team from 2005-07. Stancliff graduated from East Tennessee State with a degree in Education in May.
