2003: First Catamount to ever receive the Rayna Taylor Award, which goes to the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year... Ranked sixth in the SoCon and led WCU in kills (3.74/gm)... Helped the Cats to a final national ranking of 26 in digs per game (17.85/gm)... With her powerful jump serve, Thaut became a well-known scoring threat around the conference, finishing the season with 445 kills to lead the Cats... Led the team with 36 aces and 4.25 points per contest, while ranking second on the team in digs at 3.09 per game... Recorded a team-leading 18 double-doubles for the season... Led the Cats with 13 kills on 37 attacks with three errors for a .270 hitting percentage In WCU's victory over Coastal Carolina (9/5)... Hammered 13 kills against Tennessee State (9/6) to help earn her Catamount Clash All-Tournament honors... Led the Cats in taking down Samford, UAB and South Alabama (9/12-13) with 41 kills, five aces, 34 digs and five blocks en route to winning the Union State Bank/Samford Invitational, as she garnered all-tournament honors... Hit .444 (19-3-36) against UNC Asheville (9/16)... Led Western to its first SoCon win of the season over Chattanooga (9/25), tallying 18 kills, three aces and three assisted blocks for 22.5 points... Racked up a season-high 26 points versus Elon (10/3) in a grueling five-game match... Led the Cats with 17 kills and 14 digs in WCU's second match of the season against Elon, a 3-2 win... Paced the Catamount offense against UNC Greensboro (11/8) with a field-leading 18 kills, adding 13 digs for the double-double... Had a solid performance in her first ever SoCon tournament, pouring in a season-high 23 kills and a season-tying 22 digs versus Georgia Southern (11/21).

High School: A four-year varsity letter-winner at Hastings H.S.... Was a two-time All-State second team selection as well as a two-time all-conference member, two-time All-Tribland first team pick and a two-time Tribland Player of the Year... Received All-State honorable mention recognition during her sophomore year in addition to All-Tribland honorable mention... Played club volleyball for seven years for the South Central Juniors, Nebraska Juniors and Lincoln Juniors... Was also a two-time all-conference selection with her school's basketball and soccer teams.
