The Catamount women's tennis team returns to Cullowhee after competing in the N.C. State Wolfpack Fall Invitational over the weekend. Senior Kristin Munn was successful in Flight A2, defeating Wisenhunt 6-0, 4-6, 10-5 to finish third in her draw. Sophomore Katie VanEwyk finished second in the C1 bracket. She beat out Pulupa of Elon 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to play for the championship, but fell to Barry of N.C. State 1-6, 5-7.
In doubles action, the WCU team of Shannon Zalinski and Erin Johnson finished second in Flight B2 after an 8-6 win over Hartness and Hare of Wofford, and a 4-8 loss to Fillizttaz and Bechtold of UNC Wilmington.
