Conway, S.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team played its first dual match of the spring season on Feb. 9 on the campus of Coastal Carolina. The Catamounts dropped a 7-0 decision to Coastal Carolina in their first match, before handing South Carolina State a 4-3 defeat later that afternoon.
The Catamounts are 2-1 on the season, defeating UNC Asheville in a dual match this past fall.
Western Carolina will return to action on Feb. 23 when it travels to Clinton, S.C., to face Presbyterian. The Cats will stay on the road for their next two matches, playing Eastern Kentucky and Wright State on March 1 and 2, respectively, in Richmond, Ky. Western will play its first home match on March 4 when it hosts Southern Conference foe College of Charleston at 1:30 pm.
