Winston Salem, N.C. - As the lone representative from Western Carolina University, tennis senior Kristin Munn fell short of moving on to the second round of the ITA Southeast Regional tournament over the weekend. The University of Kentucky's Aibika Kalsarieva defeated Munn 6-0, 6-0 to move ahead. Kalsarieva charged her way through the bracket, making it all the way to the finals of the tournament.

Although Munn additionally competed in the tournament as a freshman, she has been the only Catamount to ever be invited to attend the regional event.

The Lady Catamounts have one tournament left before retiring for the winter. This Friday through Sunday (Oct. 31-Nov. 2), Western will compete at the Southern Intercollegiate Tennis Championships in Columbia, S.C. They are set to open their spring season at home against Queens College on February 15.
