Columbia S.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team competed in the Southern Intercollegiate Tennis Championships in Columbia, S.C. this weekend.
Freshman Kristin Munn lost to Yasamina Hilu from Davidson in a three and one half hour
match in flight b-1 singles. The scores were 6-3, 2-6 6-4. Munn then won her first round in the consolation beating Lillian Jamison from Francis Marion 6-0,6-2.
Shannon Zalinski lost 6-3,6-3 to Namomi Ellis from Univ. N.C. Pembroke. Zalinski and Munn won their first round doubles match against Dela Concepcion and Dalton 8-4.
