CHARLESTON, S.C. - Western Carolina women's tennis, the No. 10 seed, fell in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament 4-0 to No. 7 seed Georgia Southern.

Tessie Salame, a sophomore for the Catamount women's tennis team was recognized by the league coaches, on the first day of the tournament, being voted Second Team All-Southern Conference at No. 1 singles. Salame ends the year with a record of 11-7 at No. 1 singles.

Western Carolina ends its season with a record of 4-17.
