BOONE, N.C.- Western Carolina's women's tennis team lost to Appalachian State Saturday in Southern Conference action, 5-2. The Mountaineers were victorious in all three doubles matches, and took four for the six singles matches.

The Lady Catamounts fought hard, with the first two teams taking their matches to an extra game. In singles action, Rocio Perez was victorious over Tammy Beaulieu, 7-5, 6-4, and Megan Bechtold defeated Kasia Finkowska, 6-0, 6-2. The matchup in the number three position was pushed to a third set, but Kristin Munn fell to Victoria Moody, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

WCU hosts UNC Greensboro Saturday, April 12, at 1 pm.
