Western Carolina Women's Tennis Falls 4-2 to Wofford

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's tennis (3-12, 0-5 SoCon) dropped a shortened match to Wofford (11-2, 3-1 SoCon) 4-2 Saturday at the Catamount Sports Complex. The teams didn't play the doubles matches due to the late stare because of inclement weather.

The Catamounts did pick up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Tessie Salame defeated Wofford's Mary Ellen Henry 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Salame leads Western Carolina with an overall record of 9-4 at No. 1 singles.

Trish Hanson notched a victory at No. 2 singles. She defeated the Terriers' Adriane Hodges 7-6, 7-5. Hanson has an overall record of 5-10.

Western Carolina hosts Furman at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Catamount Sports Complex.
