Davidson, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team fell to Southern Conference opponent Davidson, 2-5 in a battle between two schools searching for their first conference win of the season. The Catamounts drop to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in league play.

WCU's Kristin Munn improved her record to 2-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Davidson's Elizabeth Moreno. Shelby Fitzpatrick also recorded a win for the Catatmounts. She defeated Yasamina Hilu by a score of 6-1, 6-3 to improve her record to 2-1.

In doubles play Fitzpatrick and Shannon Zalinski battled with Moreno and Hilu, however, could not come up with the win. Fitzpatrick and Zalinski lost 8-6.

WCU will host its first meet of the spring season Saturday, March 24. The Catamounts will take on UNC Greensboro, the match is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
