Western Carolina Women's Tennis Falls to Murray State 4-3

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's tennis (3-10) dropped another close match at home, falling to Murray State (8-3) 4-3 Tuesday at the Catamount Sports Complex.

Murray State got the early advantage in the match sweeping the doubles to take an early 1-0 lead. Western Carolina got solid play from number one through three singles to stay in the match.

Tessie Salame won her fourth match out of the last six at No. 1 singles. Salame defeated Murray State's Angela McGahee 6-3, 6-0. Trish Hanson and Amanda Massey also notched win at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

Massey fought back from a 3-6 opening set defeciet to battle back and defeated the Racer's Lynsey Bochenek 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Murray State got the clinching points at singles four through six.

The Catamounts host Southern Conference foe Appalachian State March 22 at 1 p.m.
