Cullowhee, N.C. - Wofford College continued its unbeaten streak in Southern Conference women's tennis action, defeating the Western Carolina Catamounts in straight sets, 7-0, Friday afternoon in Spartanburg, SC. The match was originally scheduled to be played on Thursday but was pushed to Friday due to inclement weather in the region.

Western (3-8, 0-3 SoCon) had its best performances in the middle of the order with the number three and four players battling hard in the loss. Third-seeded senior Kristin Cotton took her opponent Delaine Hare to the wire in both sets, falling 7-5, 7-6. Freshman Ashley Harris pushed Wofford's Tara Hartness to a 7-6 score in the first set before being swept, 6-0, to drop the point.

Western Carolina will host Gardner-Webb on Saturday morning at 11 am in non-conference action, as well as entertaining the College of Charleston Sunday at 10:00 am.
