Hilton Head, S.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Belmont Monday in the team's first match in Hilton Head, S.C. Rocio Perez and Erin Johnson picked up the 8-6 win to open doubles play, but the Bruins came back to take the number two and three doubles matches to claim the first point of the match.

In singles action, Perez defeated Shivani Oberoi in the number two spot, 6-1, 6-1, while teammate Kristin Cotton downed April Bradley, 6-3, 6-1, as the fourth seed to win two points for the Catamounts. However, the other four singles points went to Belmont, giving the Bruins the 5-2 victory.

Next up for Western is Indiana State and Slippery Rock. The Cats will face Evansville at 8:00 am on Wednesday, Mar. 10.
