Mt. Pleasant, S.C. - The shorthanded Western Carolina women's tennis team fell in straight sets, 7-0, to the College of Charleston this afternoon at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The Cougars have now won three in a row and are undefeated in conference play with a 2-0 record and stands 4-6 overall. The Catamounts drop to 0-6 and 0-1 in the Southern Conference.

Charleston opened doubles play, taking all three for the point heading into singles competition. The third doubles was won by default as Western Carolina did not have enough players.

The Cougars did not give up more than two games in a set at singles and easily won number one through four singles. The Catamounts were forced to surrender number five and six singles with the shortage of players.

Western continues conference play on Sunday, visiting Georgia Southern at Noon in Statesboro, Ga.
