Cullowhee, N.C - The Western Carolina women's tennis team lost their home opener Monday against College of Charleston, 0-7. The loss brings them to a 2-4 record for the season.

Number one seed, Kristin Munn lost a tough match, 6-7 (1), 6-2, 10-5. All other singles players lost in straight sets. The doubles team of Shelby Fitzpatrick and Shannon Zalinski fought hard in a tough match, but fell 9-8 (3) in the end.

"It was very cold out there today," said Coach Jan Stubbs. "I'm sure that affected their performance. But the weather should be nice the rest of the week, so we should get some good practices in to prepare for the weekend."

The Lady Catamounts will host North Greenville College this Saturday, March 9, at 10:00 am.
