CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Western Carolina tennis lost 7-0 in today's match against SoCon challenger Chattanooga.

WCU (1-4, 0-2 SoCon) lost all sets to Chattanooga (9-1, 1-1 SoCon) in both singles and doubles competition.

In doubles competition, the No. 1 match, which consisted of Nicole Nielly and Shannon Bettiol, was taken by Chattanooga's Jenna Nurik and Kaylene Chadwell 8-2. Chattanooga also claimed the win for the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, with scores of 8-4 and 8-1.

WCU's Stacia Kissell was defeated in singles competition 6-2 in both sets in the No. 1 match, while lone senior, Karen Jiménez, lost 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 match.

Sara Ruiz and Nicole Nielly lost in the No. 3 and No. 4 matches, with Shannon Bettiol and Erin Maguire falling in the No. 5 and No. 6 matches.

Women's tennis will move on to face UNC Asheville on Tuesday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in Asheville.
