MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Western Carolina softball's Jamie Swank was named to the Southern Conference First Team All-Conference at the utility position Wednesday as voted on by the league coaches.
It is the first all-conference accolade for the senior and the second straight first team selection at the utility position for the Catamounts. Swank leads the Catamounts with a .329 batting average which ranks her ninth in the Southern Conference. She also paces the club with 54 hits and 33 runs scored.
Western Carolina fell in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament 3-1 to No. 1 seeded Chattanooga. The No. 8 seeded Catamounts will face No. 4 seed Elon at 10 a.m. Thursday in an elimination game.
