CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Western Carolina softball's midweek doubleheader at Appalachian State, scheduled for Wednesday, March 14, has been rescheduled to April 3 due to inclement weather in Boone, N.C. this week. The pair of games on April 3 is set to begin at 4 p.m.
With the shuffled games at Appalachian State, Western Carolina will enjoy eight days off before the Catamounts home opener March 20 against Presbyterian beginning at 3 p.m. The pair of games with the Blue Hose is the first of three straight home dates for Western Carolina as WCU will also host Winthrop March 21 and North Carolina Central March 22.
After playing the first 20 games on the road, Western Carolina will play its next five dates, a total of nine games, at home.
Western Carolina is coming off a sweep of Akron and Northern Illinois in the final day of the EKU Invitational this past weekend.
