Jessica Williams begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Catamount softball program.
Williams has spent the last two seasons playing in the NPF (National Pro Fastpitch) league. She was drafted in the fourth round, 30th pick overall, in 2006 by the Chicago Bandits. She saw limited action as a rookie with the Bandits but was a member of the Chicago team that were the regular season NPF Champions. She played for the Rockford Thunder in 2007 with former University of Texas heralded pitcher Cat Osterman and finished second in the NFP Championships.
In the spring of 2007, Williams was a student assistant coach at Marshall University after spending four years as the Herd's starting shortstop. She finished her career at Marshall in the top five of six different career categories. She was a four-time all-conference selection, including a first team All-Conference USA honor last as a senior. She was also a three-year captain and earned the team's Softball Leadership Award as a senior.
