Kari Mills begins her first season as a graduate assistant for the Western Carolina softball program.
Prior to Western Carolina, Mills spent one season (2006-07) working with the catching staff at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oreg. In 2006-06, she was a head junior varsity and assistant varsity coach at McKay High School. She worked with all aspects of the junior varsity team and coached catchers and hitters with the varsity squad.
Mills also spent a summer playing and coaching softball in Europe. She assisted with the Swedish National and Junior National softball training camps and was also a coach at for USA Softball Camps in the Oregon area.
She originally played for Portland State University, 2001-03, before transferring to Campbell University for the 2003-05 seasons and was coached by Catamount Head Coach Christine Hornak. Mills was voted team MVP at Campbell in 2003 and 2004. She returned to Portland State to earn her B.S. in Public Health.
Mills is currently pursuing her master's degree in sport management at Western Carolina University.
