Notes: Threw a first-pitch strike to open WCU's 2006 inaugural fastpitch softball era striking out the first batter for the first-ever K ... Holds the school record for strikeouts in a game (11 vs. Pittsburgh, 3/7/06), also tallying the lone save in WCU history (vs. UNC Wilmington, 3/11/06) ... Over the summer, helped the Carolina Cardinals Fast Pitch Softball team to the 2006 USA/ASA Class "A" 18-Under National Championship ... Holds the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's record for strikeouts in the championship weekend, fanning a state-record 76 batters, including 37 in the 19-inning marathon championship game, en route to a runner-up finish in the 2005 NCHSAA playoffs.

2007 (Sophomore): Voted to the 2007 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team ... Became the first pitcher in Catamount history to win a game in the Southern Conference Tournament, earning two victories in the club's tournament run ... Had a strong performance in the SoCon Tournament tossing 22.2 innings, with a 2-1 record, recording a 0.62 ERA allowing just two earned runs and striking out 22 ... Played in 61 of the club's 62 games, splitting time between the pitching mound and right field ... On the mound, McKenzie ended the year with a record of 13-19 and a 3.40 ERA ... She had 172 strikeouts and has notched 382 for her career ... Pitched five shutouts including two in the Southern Conference Tournament ... Tied her career-high for strikeouts in a game when she recorded 11 against Georgia State (April 18) ... At the plate had a .282 batting average ranking second on the team in hits with 60, which ties her for second in the Catamount record books for hits in a season ... Her 37 RBI was third on the team and is good for fifth place in the Western Carolina record books ... Had 18 multiple hit performances ... 2006 (Freshman): Primarily used as a starting pitcher, made 38 game appearances, including 34 starts, in the circle compiling a league-leading 22-7 record while also starting once at second base ... Ranked second on the team and third in the league in earned run average (2.28) over the fourth-most innings pitched (196.2) including 22 complete games ... Posted a team-high and the second-most strikeouts in the SoCon at 210 with the third-most shutouts with six ... Held opponents to a paltry .240 batting average ... Earned a league-record five SoCon Pitcher of the Week accolades and was twice dubbed the league's Pitcher of the Month (February & March) ... Named first team All-Southern Conference and selected to both the Louisville Slugger / National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Southeastern All-Region team and to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State team ... Was also named WCU's "Pitcher of the Year" and team Most Valuable Player by the coaching staff ... Also was dubbed Western Carolina's Female Student-Athlete of the Year for 2005-06.

High School: Was a four-time All-Central Piedmont Conference selection, which includes her being named conference Player of the Year twice ... Concluded her prep career with 87 total wins, ranking third all-time in the state; threw a combined 734 innings and struck out 1,192 batters, both second in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) all-time record books ... Won 30 games during her senior season, tying the NCHSAA record ... Pitched each of the 245 innings played by WFHS in `05, leading the state in strikeouts with 482, pitching the third-most shutouts with 24, and tallying the sixth-best earned run average, .171 ... Earned her second NCFSCA 4-A All-State honor as a senior for a squad which finished as the North Carolina 4-A runner-up and second in the final NCFSCA poll ... As a junior in 2004, finished with a career single-season best ERA of 0.05, a mark that ranked third on the all-time charts in the state ...
