Samantha Hodge Named to NCCSIA All-State
Dec. 14, 2011 Link to Full Release on NCCSIA CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Redshirt junior Samantha Hodgewas named to the 11-member North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State women's soccer team which was released today. Hodge was named to the Capitol One District III All-Academic First Team after playing and starting in all 20 Western Carolina matches. She led the team and set career-high totals in goals scored with five, assists with six and points with 24. The Louisville, Ky. native notched a team-leading two game-winning goals, scoring game clinchers against UNC Asheville and The Citadel. She also serves as the Vice-President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), her second consecutive term in that position. The redshirt junior also helped organize pink games for all WCU sports that will be carried out throughout the 2011-12 seasons. Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina's NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina whose responsibilities include sports information.
