Cullowhee, N.C. - With the 2003 season at an end, the Western Carolina soccer team found many of its players moving up as well as entering the WCU career and single-season record books. Catamount goalkeeper Tina Weaver additionally entered the Southern Conference record book, finishing fourth in career goals against average (1.11).

The 1.11 career goals against average by Weaver additionally stands as a Western Carolina record. Weaver, who played a career-high 1791:40 minutes in goal this past season, moved into third place on the single-season saves list this past season, turning away 123 shots. Her 4.0 shutouts this year found her a spot on the single-season list as well, ranking her third. She additionally became WCU's record-holder with a .821 career save percentage and landed in second on the single-season list with a .820 save percentage in 2003.

Lauren Bramlett is also a mainstay in the single-season and career record books. She dished out 25 assists over her career to finish second all-time. Bramlett, who was one of only three Catamounts that started every match in 2003, also is tied for second on the single-season, game-winning goals list with four.

Jordan Howell finished her career at WCU ranked in the top five in every offensive category in the Catamount record books, both single-season and career. She also finished her career as the program's record-holder in shots with 216 and in game-winning goals with 10, which is quite an accomplishment considering the injuries she battled throughout her career. She is one of only two players to ever record a hat trick at Western, something she has done three times throughout her four years on the squad.

As the fastest player on the team, Felicia Wilson started eight of nine games before her 2003 season was interrupted due to a torn ACL. Wilson, who came back to play in three more matches toward the end of the season without repairing her ACL, finished her career at WCU posting 38 points and 118 shots to rank fifth on those respective all-time lists. Kristen Deon finished up her career as one of the Catamounts' most skillful flank players. As the top endurance athlete on the team, Deon started 22 of the 65 matches she played in. Her first collegiate goal came against longtime SoCon powerhouse Furman in 2000. As a sophomore, she dished out a key assist in an overtime victory versus Gardner-Webb. All-totalled, she posted three goals and three assists during her tenure at Western Carolina.

The Catamounts had six new faces at the beginning of the year with all but one newcomer seeing playing time during the 2003 season. The lone exception was freshman goalkeeper Jennifer Deck, who suffered a season-ending knee injury that sidelined her before the first game. True freshman Stephanie Svoboda stepped up and etched her name in both the WCU single-season and career record books. Her 65 shots landed her in fourth on the single-season list and her four game-winners found her tied for second on the single-season list as well as tied for fourth on the career list.
