Women's Soccer Faces No. 1 Seed Furman in SoCon Championship Quarterfinals

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer, the number eight seed in the tournament, will travel to Greenville, S.C. Sunday face No. 1 seed Furman at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championships.

The Catamounts earned a berth in the championships by defeating Appalachian State, who is a No. 6 seed, 1-0 Oct. 30. It is the Catamounts first appearance in the tournament since 2011 when the Catamounts were a No. 8 seed and lost to No. 1 seed Samford 2-1.

Western Carolina women's soccer (7-7-1, 2-5 Southern Conference) fell to Furman (11-3-1, 5-1 SoCon) 1-0 Friday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
