Asheville, N.C. - Western Carolina University's sophomore midfielder Jordan Howell has been selected the Southern Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for September 25.

Howell helped the Catamounts to wins over Tennessee Tech and The Citadel last week, extending WCU's winning streak to three.

The 5-2 Southern Pines, NC, native scored five goals last week, including a hat trick in Western Carolina's 3-0 victory over Tennessee Tech. Howell added two goals and a pair of assists in WCU's Southern Conference opener against The Citadel, giving her 12 points on the week. She was credited for the game winning goal in each of the two matches.

Howell is the only Western Carolina soccer player to record a hat trick, a feat she's accomplished three times during her two year career.
