BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Lauren Bramlett's goal off an assist from Kristen Deon (Greer, S.C.) at the 118:15 mark Thursday afternoon lifted Western Carolina (4-2) to a 2-1, double overtime win over Gardner-Webb University in women's soccer action at Varsity Field.

The tally from Bramlett (Anderson, S.C.) was the first score by either team since the 37:58 mark, when teammate Felicia Wilson (Charlotte, N.C.) lifted a shot past GWU keeper Hilary George to tie the game at 1-1. Morgan Foresman (Hendersonville, N.C.) assisted on the play.

Gardner-Webb (2-3), fresh off a 2-1 overtime win over Centenary on the road, went up early in the match, using an unassisted Kim O'Brien (Villa Hills, Ky.) goal at the 5:43 mark for a 1-0 edge. O'Brien assisted on Dawn Zimmerman's game-winner on Sunday at Centenary.

Western Carolina owned a 21-10 edge in shooting Wednesday and had nine total corner kicks to Gardner-Webb's three. George (Avon Lake, Oh.) registered 12 saves for the Lady Bulldogs, while Western's Mandi Tinsley (High Point, N.C.) recorded five. Each keeper went the distance.

Western Carolina takes on Howard University Sunday in Washington, D.C., with match time slated for 3 p.m. EST.
