Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina Catamounts ended the match with Alabama A&M in a 0-0 tie in double overtime, Friday afternoon at the Middle Tennessee State tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn. WCU is now 0-1-1 on the season.

The Catamount defense allowed 12 shots in the match, while senior goalkeeper Tina Weaver recorded three saves to shut down the Lady Bulldogs. The Alabama A&M defense allowed 18 shots by the Cats, and goalkeeper Priscilla Mensah picked up five saves in the contest.

The Cats were led on offense by forwards Jordan Howell and Lauren Bramlett, each recording three shots. Howell also had one shot on goal.

Western Carolina returns to action on Sunday, September 7, in Murfreesboro as they wrap up tournament play against Middle Tennessee. The game is scheduled to start at 3 pm on Sunday.
