Western Carolina Fall Sports Host Scrimmages Saturday

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Fans can get a peek at Western Carolina's fall sports on Saturday as football, soccer and volleyball will hold scrimmages.

Football kicks off the sneak peek with a scrimmage beginning at 10 a.m. at E.J. Whitmire Stadium. The Catamounts open the 2007 season in Tuscaloosa, Ala. facing the Alabama Crimson Tide at 6 p.m. September 1.

Soccer will host an Alumni Scrimmage at 2 p.m. at the Catamount Athletic Complex. The Catamounts will welcome back former Western Carolina soccer players who will face-off against the 2007 squad.

Volleyball rounds out the day with a Purple and Gold scrimmage at 7 p.m. in the auxiliary gym of the Ramsey Center. The Catamounts open the season Friday August 24 at a tournament hosted by SMU.
