CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer braved a soggy Friday morning to get the first of its two practices in as preseason workouts continue for the Catamounts.
The Catamounts moved practice to 8:00 a.m. to try and get it in before the weather set in but still found they were dodging rain drops as practice came to a close. Western Carolina will continue its two-a-day practices through the weekend including scrimmage on Saturday evening between 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
A team bonding exercise is scheduled for Monday afternoon and the team will have its photo shoot for the 2014 season Tuesday afternoon.
Western Carolina will host the first of two exhibition games at 6 p.m. August 13 when it welcomes Big South team Winthrop. The Catamounts will also face UNC Asheville, in the second exhibition contest of the season, at 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Both matches will be played at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
The Catamounts officially open the season Aug. 22 when it hosts EKU at 7 p.m.
