CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer opened fall camp Thursday and volleyball reported as more fall sports prepare for preseason practice.

Catamount soccer began its their first day of practice doing timed running drills around the Western Carolina track and field complex. The club will get an early test, as it welcomes 15 newcomers, at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 11 when the club hosts a scrimmage with Cincinnati at the Catamount Soccer Complex.

Western Carolina volleyball opens fall camp Friday. The club will rely heavily on its three veteran juniors - libero Liz Rondone, setter Katie Hennessey and middle blocker Amanda Kerr.

Catamount soccer opens the season August 22 at East Carolina while volleyball will face Stephen F. Austin in Lexington, Ky. August 29.
