Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina University Soccer team did not concede a goal last Saturday as they went 2-0 in a pair of 9-a-side games at Schrader Field. The Cats defeated Mars Hill College 4-0 in the first match, powered by a hat trick from freshman Stephanie Svoboda and a goal from sophomore Natasha Moore.

Western took a short break before facing Gardner-Webb University in the second game, which the Catamounts won 3-0. Western got one goal each from Svoboda and sophomores Natalie Turgeon and Marie Nicolini. Freshman goalkeeper Alesha Row posted both shutouts.

The Cats travel to Charleston for a 7-a-side tournament this Saturday (Apr. 3).
