Spartanburg, S.C. - Wofford freshman goalkeeper Austin Somers took part in her sixth solo shutout as the Lady Terriers defeated Western Carolina, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C.

The lone score in the match came on an own goal as a Bernie Sikes free kick hit a Catamount defender in the leg and trickled into the net at the 27:25 mark.

Somers recorded seven saves for the Lady Terriers (5-4-3, 3-1-2). Tina Weaver posted six saves for Western Carolina (4-7-2, 1-4).

Christine Pezzutti had a team-high four shots for Wofford while Jordan Howell paced Western Carolina's attack with four shots as well.

The Catamounts face Furman on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in a 7 p.m. match.
