Final Stats

Davidson, N.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer fell to the Davidson Wildcats, 2-0, in Southern Conference action Wednesday night at Davidson's Alumni Stadium.

The Wildcats picked up their third conference win of the season on two unassisted goals in the first half by scoring leaders Kara Koehrn and Heidi Wilbrandt. Early in the first period, Wilbrandt dribbled into the Catamount cage and gave Davidson their first goal of the game when Western's goalie came out to defend her. A shot by Koehrn 25 minutes later deflected off a Catamount defender provided the game's final goal.

WCU freshman Melissa Berry, sophomore Stephanie Svoboda, and senior Brittany Bennefield each tallied one shot a piece for the Catamounts on offense.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Deck, in her third appearance, scooped up four saves for Western on the night.

Western Carolina returns home to host Wofford on Friday, Oct. 8 in Southern Conference play. The match is set to begin at 4:00 pm at Schrader Field.
