Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's soccer team defeated South Carolina State, 7-0 Saturday afternoon at Schrader Field.

Sophomore Jordan Howell recorded the first goal of the day and her tenth of the season as she beat the Lady Bulldog defenders and took a shot from 10 feet out. Junior Nardia Moore added her fifth goal of the season with a penalty kick at 21:22. Junior Morgan Foresman notched her fourth and fifth goals of the season with consecutive goals at 24:47 and 37:40. Sophomore Felicia Wilson led the team with six shots and added a goal at 81:16. It was her fifth of the season.

WCU outshot South Carolina State 35-3. Mandi Tinsley and Tina Weaver recorded the combined shutout and one save each.

Western Carolina improves to 9-3, while South Carolina State drops to 1-8. WCU will next host Southern Conference rival UNC Greensboro, Friday, October 12 at 4:00 pm.
