Davidson, N.C. - Western Carolina battled in a 2-1 loss to Southern Conference opponent Davidson and fell to 0-2 in league play.
Sophomore Nardia Moore scored her fourth goal of the season at the 72:07 mark with a sharp angle shot from 20 yards out off a pass from teammate Kelly Barker. Unfortunately, Davidson had scored two to enter the halftime and to secure the win.
The Lady Cats recorded eight shots to Davidson's 20. Sophomore Mandi Tinsley recorded five saves on the day. Freshman Jordan Howell joined Moore in leading the team with three and two shots respectively. Lauren Bramlett, Sarah Rice and Stacey Mardis each added one.
Western falls to 5-4-1 overall and will return home Friday, September 29 to take on Wofford. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
