Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's soccer team notched its third consecutive win Sunday afternoon in an 8-2 victory over Southern Conference foe The Citadel.

Sophomore Lauren Bramlett kicked off the scoring for the Catamounts at the 21:57 mark off the pass from junior Nardia Moore. Bramlett scored her second goal of the game and fourth of the season at 75:09. Junior Morgan Foresman also sent the ball to the back of the net twice during the game (33:36 and 82:34) putting her season total at three. Sophomore Jordan Howell added two goals at 50:18 and 59:24, she now leads the team with eight for the season. Also scoring one goal each for the Catamounts was Tami Pissott (64:08) and Moore (80:42).

The Citadel's Kelly Pesterfield recorded both goals for the Lady Bulldogs at 50:55 and 81:44. The goals were assisted by Shawna Hartman both times.

The Citadel's goalkeeper, Jessica Walters marked 19 saves on 48 shots, while WCU goalkeeper, Mandi Tinsley recorded two saves on five shots. The 48 shots for WCU was one short of a school record.

WCU improves to a 6-2 overall record and 1-0 in league play. The Citadel falls to 1-4 and 0-2 in the SoCon. The Catamounts will travel to Georgia Southern Friday, September 28 for a 4:00 pm start.
