Final Stats

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina sophomore Jordan Howell recorded a hat trick to lead the Catamounts to a 3-0 victory over Tennessee Tech (4-2) Friday afternoon.

Howell scored her first goal at the 12:57 mark off a cross from junior Kelly Barker. At the 21:49 mark junior Nardia Moore sent the ball to Howell for her second goal of the game. Shortly after, Howell caught Tennessee Tech's goalkeeper Carly King off guard as she sent her third goal into the back of the net at 35:16. Junior Christel Kirkpatrick and sophomore Lauren Bramlett assisted on the play.

Howell has scored the only three hat tricks for WCU since the program began in 1999. She now leads the team in goals with six and points with 14.

"I am not surprised that Jordan had a hat trick today," said Head Coach Debbie Hensley. "Her work rate at practice has been phenomenal the past four days. She deserved to have a game like the one she had today."

WCU is undefeated at home this season (3-0) with a 5-2 overall record. "Today was a total team effort," stated Hensley. "For the first time this season we played hard for the full 90 minutes. We advanced our level of play as a team today."

Western will open its Southern Conference schedule Sunday, September 23 at 1:00 pm when they will host The Citadel.
