Women's Soccer Rolls Past S.C. State 9-0

Orangeburg, S.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer rolled past South Carolina State Tuesday night in an impressive 9-0 shutout to improve to a 2-1 record.

Sophomore Nardia Moore scored the first goal of the game off a penalty kick. It was followed up with a goal by Kelly Barker off a pass from freshman Brandy Ossmann. Moore and Barker were named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine All-National team for the 1999 season. Moore recorded two goals in the game as well as Barker and freshman Lauren Bramlett.

Western outshot S.C. State 21-3 with Tina Weaver recording her first career shutout as a Catamount. S.C. State's keeper Ardeana Scott recorded four saves for the Lady Bulldogs.

Western travels to Morehead State on Friday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. They will stay at Morehead State to play Indiana State on Saturday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m.
