CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Western Carolina women's soccer dropped a heartbreaker to Lipscomb 2-1, in overtime, Thursday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

After Western Carolina scored the first goal of the game, the Bison netted two unanswered goals to capture the win.

 

Turning Point
With the game tied 1-1, Lipscomb scored in the 98th minute, in overtime, to lift the Bison to the victory.

Individual Leaders
- Western Carolina senior Deyana Walker scored her second goal of the season.
- Sayres McKenna had four of Western Carolina's 11 shots in the game.
- Kasey Cooke and McKenna had two shots that bounced off the crossbar.

Inside the Box Score
- Walker netted the first goal of the game taking a pass from junior McKenna and taking on the Lipscomb goalie one-on-one for the goal.
- Ellen Lundy scored the game-tying goal for Lipscomb and Arielle Lansford notched her first goal of the season for the golden goal.
- Western Carolina had 11 shots in the game and Lipscomb had eight.

News & Notes
- The overtime game was the second in three games for Western Carolina. The Catamounts are now 0-1-1 in overtime games this season.
- McKenna dished out her 15th assist of her career giving her sole possession of fourth place in the WCU record books for assists in a career.
- Western Carolina is now 1-2-1 against Lipscomb all time with the last three meetings going to overtime.
- The Catamounts have lost its last three games by one goal.
- The game against UT Martin, on Sunday, is the fourth team this season the Catamounts will have played a team from the state of Tennessee. So far, WCU is 0-3 against teams from the Volunteer state.
- Walker, Megan McCallister, and Emily Threatt have each scored two goals this season for WCU.
- In the first six games of the season, WCU is being outscored 11-to-7 in goals.
