Greenville, N.C. - After the Western Carolina women's golf team finished round two of the ECU Lady Pirate Intercollegiate late Monday afternoon, the Catamounts remained in second place by five strokes with a 615. WCU shot a 310 in round two after shooting 305 earlier in the morning.
Junior Becca Twiner also retains her position in first place at 145 after shooting a 76 in the afternoon round. She now shares her lead with two other golfers: East Carolina's Margaret Mitchell (72-73) and Augusta State's Leah Hart (73-72). The three are in front by two strokes.
Line Cordes shot a 77 in round two to remain in a tie for 11th at 153. Brandy Andersen improved her score by four strokes, also shooting a 77 in the second, to put her in a tie for 25th at 158. Johanna Lundberg shot an 80 to tie for 27th at 159 and Ashley Hovda upped her score by one stroke, shooting an 81, to end the day in a tie for 41st at 163.
The Catamounts complete round three today at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
